Americans and Ukrainians are not disposable: Putin has found his maN

Great television? Who would think that? The Trump-Zelensky meeting wasn’t entertainment nor a reality tv show where shaming is common. How callous for a White House guest to be berated as an ingrate, especially a beleaguered ally, a fierce leader from a war-torn country protecting his people, sovereignty and democracy.

Americans didn’t vote for an alliance with President Putin. Only 4% support Russia’s war on Ukraine. Americans hoped for a fair and peaceful negotiation. That wasn’t in the cards. Instead, Ukrainian President Zelensky was metaphorically thrown out of the White House, while a Russian camera rolled during the gang up. President Trump ended this tense meeting by saying, ‘All right, I think we’ve seen enough. What do you think? Great television. I will say that'.

Yes, I think people have seen enough of your cruelty and bullying, Mr. President.

Republican voters trusted Trump to lower inflation and reduce grocery prices. Where did that promise go? Voters didn’t expect him to abdicate his role as leader of the free world. Millions believed he would never enact harsh pieces outlined in Project 2025.

We had no clue he would hand over federal government agencies and institutions to a billionaire — an unelected man born in South Africa. Who could have imagined that?

Many angry Republicans and Democrats are high tailing it into town hall meetings. Elon Musk, on the stump, said Americans would suffer ‘temporary hardship’ due to government cost - cutting measures. It sounded like music to some ears.

Most agree, there is much government waste. But millions of voters never expected massive firings. Nor imagined Musk and his techno geeks would be responsible for the loss of key experts in critical departments.

These drastic and dangerous actions lack common sense and decency. Where is Musk’s accountability for all this? What does Trump have to show the American people?

Take my cousin, for example, who still works for NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. After 19 years on the job as a climate scientist, she’s now questioning whether it’s better to stay or leave — since much of the department has been gutted. NOAA has lost 1,300 employees and another 1,000 are expected to be fired.

Does anyone think more Americans will suffer from future natural disasters as a result?

Voters didn’t realize they had elected a king, not just a 'dictator for a day'’ The Republican - controlled Congress gives us no solace, as they change with every new marching order.

There is little governance and accountability to their constituents. And now, Trump and Musk are targeting the judicial branch, as well. Our voices need to be heard over all of this chaos.

We have fallen into the hands of dictators and billionaires who have no regard for the interest of the American people or others around the world.

Many voters supported Trump for his policies and ignored their dislike for him personally. Fair enough. However, that’s not happening. He is taking a wrecking ball indiscriminately and communicating nothing? What are the policies he truly believes in? What are his real goals? How are they different from Putin’s goals for the U.S. and Ukraine?

Policies don’t really seem to matter to him. Power and money appear more important to him than the American people, as observed in his dealing with others, in a cold and callous way. We seem disposable, expendable like Ukraine.

February 28, 2025 was the final straw for my faith in this Republican Congress and the Trump administration to reject lawlessness and to uphold our Constitutional Republic.

We have fallen into the hands of dictators and billionaires.

The United States President has not only abandoned Ukraine to a murderous Russian dictator, but he has abandoned the United States by aligning himself with a longstanding enemy of democracy. Russia seems to be pulling
